Protein Tracker is a protein tracking app for people on GLP-1 medications. It works without an account, and everything you log stays on your iPhone.
Protein Tracker (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is published by [Your legal/company name], [address]. For any privacy question, write to [email protected].
The app saves the following on your iPhone, in the app's own private storage. This data is not transmitted to us:
| What | Examples | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Health & profile details you enter | GLP-1 medication type, journey phase, sex, age, body weight, unit preference, challenges you selected | To calculate your daily protein goal and personalise the app |
| Your protein goal & routine | Daily goal in grams, weekly rhythm, reminder time | To show progress and schedule your reminder |
| Food log | Foods, portions, protein grams, meal slot, date and time, custom foods and meals, favourites | To show today's ring, history and trends |
| Meal photo thumbnails | A small image saved with an entry created by AI Meal Scan | So you can recognise a logged entry later |
| A random device identifier | A randomly generated code created on first use | Only to limit how many AI scans one device can run per day. It is not linked to you, to your Apple ID, or to any advertising identifier. |
Deleting the app removes all of this data from your device permanently. Because we hold no copy, deletion cannot be undone by us.
When you use AI Meal Scan, you either take a photo with the camera or pick one from your photo library. That single photo is then:
The protein values themselves are looked up on your device from a food database bundled with the app; the AI only identifies foods and portions. A small thumbnail of the photo may be saved with the resulting entry — that thumbnail lives on your device only.
If you never use AI Meal Scan, the app never sends anything anywhere.
The app asks for camera access only when you open AI Meal Scan, and for photo library access only when you choose to pick an existing picture. We access the single image you select — never your library as a whole, and never in the background. You can revoke either permission at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security on your iPhone; the rest of the app keeps working.
If you turn on the daily reminder, it is scheduled locally by your iPhone. There is no push server and no notification data is sent anywhere. You can turn reminders off in the app's Settings or in iOS Settings.
Protein Tracker contains no third-party analytics SDK, no advertising SDK and no tracking technology. We do not collect usage statistics, we do not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA), and we do not track you across other apps or websites. Because of this, the app does not present an App Tracking Transparency prompt.
Protein Tracker offers two auto-renewing subscription options — a weekly plan and a yearly plan — which unlock the app's Pro features, including AI Meal Scan.
A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it. You manage or cancel it in iPhone Settings › your name › Subscriptions — cancellation and refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. See revenuecat.com/privacy and apple.com/legal/privacy.
We rely on the following providers, strictly to run AI Meal Scan and to sell subscriptions:
We never sell, rent, or share your data with anyone for their own purposes, and we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).
Where the GDPR applies, our legal basis for processing a meal photo is your consent, given each time you choose to scan a meal, and the performance of our agreement to provide the feature you requested. Health-related details such as weight, age and medication type are processed on your device only and are never transmitted to us, so we act as a controller for no such data.
Retention: meal photos are held only for the seconds needed to analyse them and are then discarded. Technical counters that contain no personal data are retained for up to 30 days. Rate-limit counters tied to the random device identifier expire automatically within 48 hours.
Because your information is stored on your device and not on our servers, you have direct and complete control over it: you can edit or delete any entry inside the app, and deleting the app erases everything. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, delete, or port personal data we hold, to object to or restrict processing, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact [email protected]. We do not discriminate against anyone who exercises their rights.
Protein Tracker is intended for adults (18 and over) and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, contact us and we will help you remove it.
Data on your device is protected by iOS's built-in app sandbox and device encryption. Traffic to and from our endpoint uses HTTPS. Our AI provider credentials are held only on the server and are never embedded in the app. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we keep the amount of data we handle deliberately minimal.
If we change how the app handles your information, we will update this page and revise the date at the top. Material changes affecting data that leaves your device will be announced in the app before they take effect.
