How the Extension Works
When you use Copy Text from Video:
- Video Frame Capture: When you click the copy button, the extension captures the current video frame directly in your browser.
- Local OCR Processing: The captured frame is processed using Apple's Vision framework, which runs entirely on your Mac.
- Clipboard Copy: Recognized text is copied to your local clipboard when you select it.
- No Data Transmission: At no point is any data sent to external servers or third parties.
Data Storage
The Extension stores only your preferences (such as language settings and recognition quality) locally in Safari's extension storage. This data:
- Never leaves your device
- Is not accessible to us or any third party
- Can be cleared by removing the extension
Permissions
The Extension requires certain permissions to function:
- Access to webpage content: Required to detect video elements and capture frames for text recognition.
- Clipboard access: Required to copy recognized text to your clipboard.
These permissions are used solely for the Extension's core functionality and not for any data collection purposes.
Third-Party Services
